House System

The OLR House System provides intramural opportunities for students to interact across grade levels, developing camaraderie and a healthy spirit of competition.

Students are assigned at random to one of four houses – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John – and remain in that house through the years. Over time, they contribute to the traditions and memories of their house and transition into leadership opportunities.

Through the House System, teachers encourage students to live virtuously and for others. Acts of courage and kindness may be rewarded with house points, which the student applies their his or her house’s overall total.

The houses that accumulate the most points quarterly or over the course of the whole school year receive special recognitions and prizes.
