Mr. Smith has been teaching high school math since 2006. He is passionate about helping students understand the relevance of mathematics and problem solving through the use of inquiry in the classroom. Mr. Smith has served as a mentor to robotics clubs, academic teams, and service organizations. He hopes to assist with extracurricular activities that cater to the interests of the student body at OLR and strengthen the culture of the school.
Born and raised in the upstate, Mr. Smith lives in Powdersville with his beautiful wife, Emily. They homeschool three energetic children using a classical curriculum. The Smiths center their lives on their Catholic faith and enjoy all OLR has to offer as parishioners. Mr. Smith first met his wife at a Catholic young adult bible study in Greenville. Both are marriage prep counselors for Agape Catholic Ministries.
Over the years, Mr. Smith has led Catholic bible studies, taught middle school religious education classes, and is active in the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, woodworking, and spending time outdoors with his family. He has a particular interest in cooking and grilling.
